Jerry Chadwick

Founder Director

It gives me great satisfaction to see how far the business has come since we established it over 20 years ago. Although I am now retired, I still take a keen interest in its development and it is a source of great pride to me that it is still run by our family, with the same values providing a great personal service along with excellent products and training.

Jo Thompson

Managing Director

I have over 20 years knowledge and experience in the cleaning industry and my vision is to make Spectrum the number one choice for customers who see the benefits of working in partnership with their suppliers and who value great service, innovative hygiene management support, good quality CHSA approved cleaning supplies and washroom service provision.

I enjoy the daily interactions with my customers, team and suppliers, who I care about and realise that without them I wouldn't have a business. I come from three generations of entrepreneurs all of whom have had their own businesses and I live by the motto "whatever you do in life try and be the best at it" My entrepreneurial heritage is what drives me and I put endless amounts of time and energy into my business ventures to ensure my stakeholders all receive positive outcomes.

My hobbies include, my two lovely children Emily and Lucy, walking my Labrador Archie, travelling to sunnier climates, nutrition and wine!. I enjoy dining out and I also like to entertain at home. I enjoy alternative therapies that include Shiatsu Massage and Meditation, which helps to quieten my mind, and I also like to go to the theatre. My passion however, is managing my business.

Pete Thompson

Founder Director

Along with my wife Jo and father-in law Jerry, I have been involved with the business since day one.   As Spectrum has gone from strength to strength, I have been very proud to see the results of our hard-work and long hours - it seems mad to think that we started trading from Jerry's garage (January 1995) when we take a moment to appreciate the position we are in now!

After deciding to set up another business around five years ago, my time currently only allows me to get involved with Spectrum on a part time basis. However, I am still very much on the front line and my responsibilities include customer service/ key account management, washroom services and assisting with deliveries and warehouse duties.

When I'm not working, I enjoy keeping fit at the gym and taking weekends away to go walking or support my football team, Norwich. However I would have to say I am at my most relaxed when chilling by a pool or on a beach in Cyprus! Nothing beats a bit of sunshine.

Tim Chadwick

Commercial Director

I have recently returned to my home town of Scarborough after gaining 18 years management experience working in London as a Facilities Manager.  During this time I managed various projects with the most notable being The British Museum, The National Gallery, The O2 and South Bank University in the public arena, although gained corporate experience working with companies such as IBM and McKinsey & Company.

I am very excited about my new role with Spectrum Cleaning Solutions and especially working alongside my sister Jo (our MD) as I believe that my management skills will be easily transferred into our family business, focusing on high standards of service delivery and client satisfaction, whilst ensuring good team moral and motivation!

Having just moved back to Scarborough, I am extremely busy with lots of home DIY. 

I do like my holidays, and have travelled extensively throughout Asia, Australia, Central America, as well as Europe.

Kelsey Moss

General Manager

Since joining Spectrum in March 2016, I have thrown myself into learning as much as possible about the company and the daily processes. I have spent time doing various roles within the company, from sales order processing to remote relationship management and I am now happy to be taking on the challenge of General Manager. Throughout each of these roles, I have developed some fantastic relationships with our customers, and I hope this continues to grow moving forward. I take great pride in making the customer my number one priority, as I believe a happy customer is a loyal one. 

I am also a mum to two young children, so my spare time it is normally taken up by being designated taxi driver to the children and their various hobbies. I love outdoor activities and Scarborough is a great place to live, with having both the beach and woodlands for walks; which I love to take advantage of. Getting healthy and active is currently a big part of my life, and I love to merge this with social activities and meeting with friends.

Mark Mullin

Warehouse and Distribution Manager

My role makes me accountable for ensuring the seamless supply of products and services to our customers.  This involves a few responsibilities which include :

1) Replenishing stock levels to ensure continuous supply of products to fulfil customer demands

2) Mobilising new customer accounts to ensure we deliver what we have promised in the way of dispensers, dosing units and Hygiene Management Support.

3) Ensuring warehouse and distribution efficiencies

The above keeps me busy and love being part of the Spectrum "family" and my colleagues often call me "Mr Fixit" because I am the "go to" person in the company who completes a lot of the troubleshooting tasks.  Customer service is important to me and I always like to add value and help solve challenges wherever I can!

 

 Relationship Manager

Joining the Spectrum team in Feb 2017, I have taken on the role of Customer Relationship Manager.

Responsible for managing and developing existing accounts within the business, my role involves building relationships with primary contacts across key accounts, delivering exceptional customer service and providing excellent product knowledge to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction. It’s my belief that the customer should always come first and I enjoy representing my accounts within Spectrum – ensuring that support is available whenever required.

Prior to joining the Spectrum team I worked for a large technology distributor. I have enjoyed the switch to the cleaning distribution industry and find the science behind the chemicals very interesting!

I enjoy spending my spare time with family, out walking and watching Sheffield Steelers (ice hockey team), whenever I get the chance. I love living in Yorkshire, enjoying the outdoor opportunities and countryside within the area, although I’m always happy to spend time away on holiday!

Karen Veitch

Relationship Manager

I joined Spectrum in March 2015, as Sales Support Administrator. Throughout my time, I have undertaken different roles within the company, including processing sales orders, credit control and general office administration. These roles have given me the opportunity to build a great training and knowledge basis, for the role of Relationship Manager. In this position, it is my job to manage existing customer accounts. I work closely with our customers to develop and enhance their accounts, by providing exceptional service through product knowledge and training. I consider myself lucky to be part of the Spectrum family and we all bring different skills and characters that make us an exceptional team.

 

Outside of work I enjoy walking and take every opportunity to do so. I also spend lots of time with family and friends which is very important to me.   

Sales and Marketing Executive

I joined the Spectrum team in February 2018 and have taken on the role of Marketing and Sales Executive. My role involves ensuring that customers who already purchase goods from us are happy with the products and the service they are receiving and to provide advice on how to overcome issues they may be facing with cleaning tasks in their workplace. Also, my role will see me take on the management of our social media accounts and help better promote our brand online, something I am looking forward to doing as prior to working at Spectrum I was working for one of the UK’s top website development companies.

Outside of work I enjoy leading a healthy lifestyle and spending time with family and friends. I have a love of dogs and this has resulted in my partner and I setting up our own dog sitting business which keeps us very busy!

Sales Support Administrator

 

 I am the newest member to the Spectrum team starting in April 2018. My role here is to process all your orders and deal with any queries, forwarding on to the relevant departments. I have already learnt so much on the daily processes and I am constantly building my product knowledge, through the help of the team. I am very friendly and always like to have a chat, so I enjoy being one of the main points of contact for our customers and I hope this shows through my customer service.

In my spare time, I enjoy going out with friends, reading and (unfortunately for my bank account) shopping. I don’t enjoy going to the gym but I do it anyway!

   

Linda Spivey

Accounting Technician

I started my career working in the Foreign Exchange Department for Thomas Cook, which is where I met Jo (who also worked for Thomas Cook at the time.)  Ever since, we have remained good friends and it has been great working together again through Spectrum!

I now offer free lance book keeping services and Spectrum are one of several customers that buy in my professional services.

I have to say that I love being part of the team here at Spectrum, it's just like one big happy family.

 

Justin Jones

IT Consultant

I joined Spectrum Cleaning Solutions as their IT consultant. With my strong background in London, managing projects for Dell Computer Services and working with clients such as British Telecom and the National Health Service, my aim is to simplify and improve the working practices within Spectrum and provide innovative online solutions for both ourselves and our customers.

In my spare time I enjoy cycling, watching cricket and football and playing poker and pool. I'm an avid reader of crime novels and I can't wait for the next series of the Walking Dead on TV.

 

Service & Product Distributor

I am a long-term serving member of the Spectrum family and its something I very much enjoy. My role starts at the point of picking products and follows all the way through until they are delivered to our customers, with a smile. I take great pride in my customer service skills, which I believe is really important in customer facing roles. 

My spare time I devote to my 3 children, who I love doing family activities with. Although, I do allow myself a bit of down time on a Saturday afternoon, where you will normally find me supporting my local team; Scarborough Athletic F.C. 

Service & Product Distributor

I have recently joined the team at Spectrum in my role as Warehouse Co-ordinator and I am really enjoying organising and making the warehouse function the best it can be. The job is physically challenging and tiring, however, it provides me with an excellent workout and saves money on gym membership!

In my spare time I love going to music gigs and I enjoy a cheeky beer or two whilst I am there.  I find cooking a meal for family enjoyable and making a good brew for my Spectrum colleagues (milk last) makes me a popular member of the team! 

I am looking forward to becoming an integral part of Spectrums growth plan and hope to continue to have lots of laughs along the way!

Service & Product Distributor

I recently joined Spectrum in February this year as a Service & Product Distributor

My role involves making sure products are loaded onto the van and delivered to our customers. Excellent customer service is essential in my role. I am enjoying meeting new people and representing Spectrum. It is without doubt the best job I have ever had. Great staff and everyday there is a new challenge.

I enjoy spending quality time with my family. I also play pool at International level for Ireland.

Archie

Staff Companion and Customer Meet and Greet

I have been a part of Spectrum since May 2009 and enjoy my job of staff companion.  I like to meet and greet all the customers and suppliers who visit the trade counter.  My bark is worse than my bite and I especially like to make a fuss of Cliff the YDL delivery driver as he always has a pocket full of treats for me.

I often find a sunny spot in the office and while away my days, laying in the heat!  It's a very stressful job but I love it!
