Each year, October sees Hospice Care Week promote a week of activity designed to raise the profile of hospice care across the UK. Here at Spectrum, we supply a number of hospices and therefore couldn’t be happier to help support such an important week.
With a quarter of a million patients being cared for by hospices in the UK each year, costing approximately £1.6 million per day, it is clear to see why weeks like this are crucial in raising awareness and ultimately, funds. Time, however, is just as valuable as money, with over 100,000 volunteers working in hospices with an estimated economic value of over £112 million.
We feel proud to support a handful of the 223 hospice and palliative care impatient units in the UK and are humbled by the kind words they have directed our way during Hospice Care Week.
St Teresa’s Hospice stated: “We recently had an Infection Control Inspection from the Care Quality Commission which includes inspecting several areas and practices within the hospice with one of them being cleaning routines and products we use for infection control, the feedback from the inspectors was very good and they thought the products were great and staff knowledge of the products was exceptional. The hospice management and trustees were very happy with the report. We are happy with the products and service especially the support the delivery drivers offer.”
St Gemma’s Hospice stated: “I would like to thank Spectrum who have saved us money with our cleaning and janitorial supplies plus supporting the department in bespoke paperwork for COSHH, Cleaning Procedures etc.” Click here to read St Gemma’s case study.
We hope that our work with hospices continues, helping them to achieve high hygiene standards.
So please support Hospice Care Week 2014!
